With the school summer holidays just about upon us, what are your plans for the kids over the 6 weeks break from school. I know a lot of people just ‘work around’ them and others have holiday clubs and summer camps. Personally with my two we have a combination – the eldest is off to Summer Camp and then getting involved with NCS for 3 weeks, which I hope is an amazing experience for him. Then for him it’s soon time to start a new adventure at sixth form college. The youngest however, has his week at Summer Camp with Scouts and then will be handed between grandparents for a few weeks and become my young apprentice at the office when needs be!
When I first started off in self employment the one thing that I promised myself was to have time to drop off and pick up the kids at school and be able to be flexible over holidays. On the whole I have managed to achieve this and am usually fairly flexible over the holidays.
Working remotely and using the cloud software that is now at our fingertips is a fantastic way to achieve this.
What about you? How do you work around the kids holidays? Are you jealous of those that have a school term time only job, or are you happy fitting everything in?
